a week in review

oh yeah, its been that kind of week. Chaotic, a little sloppy, but zooming right before my eyes. Hot damn, here are the best parts; 

not mine

mine. Last Saturday was my friend's (Gigi and Ed!) wedding. So a couple of weeks ago I finally replaced my sewing machine and this is my first project. I started about two weeks ago with every intention to finish for the wedding, but as it turns out there I was Friday night, up til' 3 am working out the kinks. Her she is! To be honest, it turned out a little tighter and a little shorter than I had hoped but a little leg never hurt anyone. doesn't it look like the dress above? I didn't even see that dress until after I was gone with my own. so ha! I made the necklace, earrings and flower hair piece too! Seriously, wearing this made me feel like Serena Van der woodsen! I didn't take any pics, but I know a lot of people did, so hopeful I can post them soon.

  moments before I started writing up this entry, I was sewing, up until the point I foolishly sewed right through my middle finger nail. I screamed for about two minutes straight! note the bandaid. Last Sunday night I had dinner with my family for my mom's bday. after the meal, my grandma pulled out this ziplock bag full of jewelry. She had recently taken it out of the safe deposit spot at the bank, anyways i came out of if with these! Family heirlooms! I've never had any before but these are from Aunty Helen whom I've never met, but apparently everything she buys is real. 

I love me a lazy Sunday

 Nothing follows a good ole' drunken Saturday night like a relaxing Sunday morning. After waking up at half past noon, we pulled out those st patty's day leftovers and make some delish corn beef hash. Eating outside with the radio and our new sunglasses on, it honestly felt like a mini vacation! err lets call it a staycation. Next we walked through the park, and went on boywatch at the soccer fields. Man, I wish all Sundays could be like this, breakfast and a bongload for two please!

my god i cannot believe this lucky stroke of weather we've been having! With my Tuesday/Thursday school schedule (i.e. days i can cut), and a test last Tuesday, today I could finally enjoy the beautiful, warm weather.  Oh days like these remind me of the good ole' days of summer '08. Botanical gardens, brewskis, 103.7 the band, t-shirt weather, it is all good! I might have even got a little tan today! well, spring is literally just around the corner, and hopefully mother nature makes up for all that rain she's poured on us this last couple months and gift us with an early summer followed by a extra beautiful summer followed by indian summer! what can i say, the higher the temps, the higher my spirits!

Happy New Year everybody! lunar new year that is, and welcome to the year of the TIGER! Rawr! Our home internet has been out since January 28th! almost a month without facebooking, and nextbusing, and cyberbullying, its almost too much to bear! well here i am, on this rainy tuesday at the library, which i quite enjoy, its just a short walk from home and have comfy chairs (still not quite like blogging from bed), plus where else can i ready Threads and O magazine?!?! since my last loggin, i have been busy beading, no pictures yet, a necklace inspired by a Nordstroms catalog i was flipping through at my grandmas house, and a bracelet, originally intended to be a necklace inspired by the collected shapes necklace from  anthropologie. I know, i suck at blogging, i have no pictures, but hopefully there will be some soon!!! But what i really wanted this post to be about is what i will be spending my lucky red envelopes on! you guessed it! a new sewing machine!!! i checked some out today and i think i am gonna get an upgraded version of the one i had. Oh so exciting! i will be back in action soon! 

o to the fuckin yeah

its up! but it isn't much. I'm still getting the hang of this whole selling business, and i have a lot more items to sell, but i didn't realize it's actually a lot of work. but i promise promise to get better. The hard beginning stuff is (for the most part) out of the way, and though my shop appears to be very bare, i have the next FOUR days off so get ready for some big changes!              http://www.etsy.com/shop/ladymchottie
